I still don’t know why I get tearful looking at my Uncle Bud’s picture when he was at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks as part of the US Army’s ASTP program. Stands for Army Specialized Training Program. Nobody really knows what the program was about, although lengthy explanations abound. (Check Wikipedia.)
