My friend Dr. Randolph Bradham is Alive!

Dear Charles Waring III,

 

Thanks for obtaining permission for me to republish Dr. Randy Bradham’s article in my blog.  You really made my day, and that is saying something.  

 

My day had been very good even before your good news.  1) I was cast to sing a part in Verdi’s “La Traviata” in the Fall for a legitimate opera company and to get paid $100 for it!  2) I found out today that I won a raffle for a $700 pearl necklace.  3) I watched my grandson play baseball.  4) I overcame my fears and solicited support for the opera season for 1) above. ( I was rewarded with a pledge for $50, just 1% of what I had asked.)

 

Of course I will provide a link to your website from my blog.  

 

I plan to phone Dr. Bradham.  I am ecstatic that he is still kicking.  I should advise you that Dr. Bradham told me that he thought I should have been shot when I told him what I did in the Marines during training in Memphis, Tennessee.

 

No need to call me sir.  I am retired.  Even though I got a degree in journalism from the University of Montana, I never was a good writer, so I had to rely on other work to make a living.  I never considered myself to be particularly patriotic until about 10 years ago.  Of course now I do.

Thanks for your quick reply.  Of course I will wait for the go-ahead.

 

I found Dr. Bradham’s article in your newspaper by searching online, yes.  I am always searching for new information.  Actually I met and ate several meals with Dr. Bradham at an army reunion of Company E in Sarasota, Florida, in 2006.  Recently when I tried to mail him a card at his old address the card was returned by the post office as undeliverable, so I feared he had died or was confined in a nursing home.  Please mention my name when you ask him if I can use his piece.
