I spent 4 days with veterans who served with Carl R. Bonde, Jr.

I am standing with Mr. and Mrs. Hank Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Al Salata. Both of the men escaped from the sinking SS Leopoldville. Both were members of Bud’s Weapons Platoon. Hank said in his booming voice, “I remember Carl.” Al said he did not. At this writing only Mary Anderson and I are still alive.
